Safety Tips
Safety first
is important to O'Brien's Rogue River Outfitters. Following a few safety precautions will enable you to completely enjoy your outdoor activity.
Sunburn: Preventing sunburn is essential to any outdoor rafting or camping experience. If you burn easily wear sunscreen, apply frequently and bring along a long sleeved cotton shirt to cover up from the elements in the hottest part of the day. Hats will protect the face, however the combination of hats and sunscreen work the best. If you do not typically burn in the sun, be warned that a full day of exposure can sizzle even the toughest skin types. Apply sunscreen before the day starts and again at noon especially if you are swimming or engaged in water fights! Prevention is the key to an enjoyable day without the agony of sunburned skin.
Dehydration: O'Brien's Rogue River Outfitters offers water, tea and lemonade as the thirst quenching beverages of choice on the river or lake. Water is by far the best for hydrating the body. Drinking water through out the day will prevent a headache in the evening.
Shoes: Wearing shoes that fit comfortable and are tied or buckled onto the foot is very important. Flip flops are a disaster waiting to happen when recreating outside or on the water. We recommend water sandals that have a sturdy sole or cotton tennis shoes that you don't mind getting wet. Either choice is great, and be sure to pack an extra pair for walking around camp in the evening. Sturdy lace-up shoes or boots are the best choice for hiking.
